A grand day out

It’s pretty hard getting up today when the alarm goes off at 5:30am, but we wait bleary-eyed for our ride out to the airfield whilst the early morning/late night gambling is still going on around us. Continue reading “A grand day out”

Sin City

Today it’s another early start to make the most of our time here in Vegas. Continue reading “Sin City”

It’s a kinda magic

We snooze until mid morning today after our first night in Vegas so by the time we leave to scout out breakfast (or lunch) it’s a scorching 40 degrees here in Paradise. That’s not me calling it that by the way, that’s genuinely the local area name here in Clark County that covers most of the Las Vegas strip and the airport. Continue reading “It’s a kinda magic”

Gooooo Bayside!!

It’s time to say goodbye to ‘Stangy’ today. He’s been my faithful companion on this road trip, and he hasn’t even once criticised my driving; so I’m sad to part ways. Continue reading “Gooooo Bayside!!”

The Great Bixby

I have a feeling I should not have drunk the entire bottle of wine last night when my alarm goes off at 7:30am. Yuk. I would go back to sleep, but I have an early morning appointment with a castle. Continue reading “The Great Bixby”

The One

Today I’m leaving Santa Barbara and I start my day strong as my host has made me blueberry pancakes, strawberries and eggs all smothered in butter and syrup-yum. Continue reading “The One”

Mustang Sally

It’s hard work getting up this morning, but I head up to collect my rental car from LAX. I’ve decided since I’m only going to do this drive once, I’m going to bloody well do it right and have therefore reserved myself a Mustang Convertible. Continue reading “Mustang Sally”

An art buyer, a film director and an unemployed tourist go to the Whitney…

It’s my last night in NYC and I’m exhausted. Pathetic I know. But the idea of taking the A train downtown is the last thing I feel like doing after a full on day walking. But there’s one more thing I want to do. I set off slightly unenthused but I have to get to The Whitney Museum of American Art. I’ve been told that it’s the place to go since its move to the trendy Meat Packing District and I know I’ll only be cross with myself come tomorrow if I don’t make it. Despite its promise however, I’m having mixed feelings following my jaunt to MOMA yesterday which I found to be decidedly underwhelming. This coupled with my tiredness and I’m somewhat grumpy as I trudge to Chelsea early evening. Continue reading “An art buyer, a film director and an unemployed tourist go to the Whitney…”
