It’s time to move on from the idyllic white sandy beaches of Florida today, and I watch out the windows, bidding farewell to the lagoons as we head to the airport. A brilliant orange butterfly dips up and down beside us keeping pace with the car, then soars up out of sight. Continue reading “Les gens de libres”
I awake with the sun rising over The Atlantic, a brilliant pink, and steal a few more minutes of slumber. I’m up early today to head to Miami and picking up the Tri-rail double decker train, I set off on my long journey. Will Smith is on my iPod singing about South Beach as we set off, and I’m in the zone. Continue reading “Party in the city where the heat is on”
Today it’s raining in South Florida. Not just raining though, a torrential downpour which has laid waste to my plans for more sunbathing time. This morning I awake to the sound of the ocean and the delectable scent of freshly ground coffee. Breakfast hungrily consumed and I head out front to the beach. It’s deserted save for a mother and her small child playfully kicking in the shallows.
The sun is beginning to make an appearance after lazily hanging back, and I’m grateful of the breeze to keep me cool. Continue reading “The Lost and Found”
I’m en route to West Palm Beach today so this means another two internal flights this morning. I’m not entirely sure what possessed someone who is completely petrified of air travel to book all their stops using aeroplanes; but here we are once more. Continue reading “Going with the flo…”
Today I’m heading slightly out of town up to Savannah’s Bonaventure Cemetery on the bluff of the Wilmington River. Seen as it was a key deciding factor on me stopping here over Charleston; I’m pretty excited to say the least. Continue reading “Une Bonne Aventure…”
I awake early this morning after a deep sleep worthy of the dead. I’m not really sure what to do with myself after yesterday, as I have a feeling the best experiences to have in Savannah won’t be written in any guide books or internet reviews. Continue reading “Anything but ordinary, please”
Today I rise early with a somewhat wine flavoured headache, and set off in the rush hour traffic to Reagan Airport. This morning I’m leaving DC flying Delta via Atlanta, to Savannah. Continue reading “Rebel with a cause”
